LINA GHOTMEH — ARCHITECTURE
“To me, architecture means digging into the past and projecting it onto the future”. ‘Future archaeology’ is the method she uses to re-elaborate her past – Beirut in the early 90’s, in the aftermath of the war – and to give her buildings a markedly expressive air combined with a sincere commitment to sustainability. In fact, Gothmeh believes in the importance of architecture in its effects on the environment. Space becomes a tool to materialize invisible relationships and establish new ones, fostering interpersonal relationships.
